Brazil's trade balance presented strong results up to the third week of January 2025, reflecting the positive performance of exports and the increase in imports compared to the same period of the previous year.

Up to the third week of January 2025, the trade balance recorded exports of US$ 15.7 billion and imports of US$ 13.1 billion, resulting in a surplus of US$ 2.6 billion. In the third week alone, the positive balance was US$ 1.4 billion, with exports of US$ 6.4 billion and imports of US$ 5.1 billion.

The daily average of the trade flow up to this period reached US$ 2.4 billion, while the daily average balance was US$ 212.71 million. Compared to January 2024, there was a 12% increase in the trade flow.

Exports and Imports Comparison

• Exports: Growth of 7.8%, with the daily average increasing from US$ 1.2 billion (2024) to US$ 1.3 billion (2025).

• Imports: Growth of 17.5%, increasing from US$ 932 million (2024) to US$ 1.1 billion (2025).

The data was released by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex/MDIC) on Monday (20).

• Extractive Industry: Growth of US$ 15.51 million (28.2%).

• Manufacturing Industry: Growth of US$ 137.08 million (16,2%).
